Reading essay of other group members was good. I got new ideas from them and their advice can be helpful to think my essay structure again. They taught me that there are some kinds of essay structure. Each of us use different style, so after finishing essay, I will read my friends' essay and learn other essay style.

I was relieved to know that my essay and its conclusion should not be "perfect." I cannot ask all the ICU dorm students to answer my questionnaire, so my data is not perfect but I use it as support. But, I still not sure what should I say about dorm life in my conclusion... I must GET BUSY!!

May. 21

Today we played around what we've learned so far.
I was thinking to use google form for my essay, so it was helpful for me to learned again how to use it.
Google site cannot change the font size, so I won't care about it any more. I will care the content of it!

May. 20

Today, we did "google golden gate bridge challenge" first. It seemed easy to find three answers at first, but I was wrong. I didn't know that google has "patent search" and each patents has names.

May. 15th

Today we made our own websites. I have already made one in the last term, but I couldn't manage it well. So I made new one.

I didn't know how to change the order of the navigation on side bar. It is alphabet order! Now I can change the order freely using "1,2,3..." or "a,b,c...". I was relieved!

Now I can edit my friend's website, and he also can do mine. We should talk a lot to make our website better and better.

May. 14th

Today we learned how to make a movie by iMovie with a few videos. I especially like  world map animation! I can change the name of destination! not Tokyo, but ICU!
Yet, something wrong with my movie... the audio and the screen do not match. The sound comes first, and the screen follows it. It means, my voice starts first and it does not match exactly with my mouth's movement. What happens?

May 13th

Today, we checked everyone's e-portfolio on the big screen. All of us have done the introduction section!
And we learned how to record video using quick time player. I didn't know that Mac can hide the application icons. I was wondering how Jim Sick recorded the ELA videos, but in recently, I understand how he made the videos.
Recording system is very useful for education purpose.

May. 8th

Today, Rab taught us how to make visually attractive presentation with keynote.

As he said, keynote can be like prezi! I hope keynote has more and more template and color of graphs, but generally I am fascinated with the usefulness of keynote. The best function from today's class is keynote can move to a webpage without closing the presentation. And we can move freely between slides!　So, if we want to go back to the information on the former slides, all  we need to do is 'click.' I am looking forward to seeing my section mates' wonderful presentation in the near future.

May. 7th

Today Rab showed us how USEFUL keynote is!
As he said, it is Ferrari of presentation soft!
I was really surprised its functions.
And Dafont is also useful. I will download many kinds of fonts and use them in my presentation and website. Can I use them in facebook, too? I will try.

May. 1

I use some different passwords, but one or two of them are used as a few email account or login password. I should not use the same password of gmail login pass at least. I have used password manager application, but I found that it is easier to remember a few password and use them whenever & wherever. So the application does not work well recently.
I lost my iPhone last year and bought a new one. I had worried about the data in the ex-iPhone, but iTunes(iCloud?) had backup of the data. So, I could get photos and addresses and application which were in my ex-iPhone. I realized then how important it is to backup data. I also lost my essay in the last term because I only saved my essay in my USB and the USB was out of order. So I couldn't paste my essay on my webpage...
But I'm not sure what is the best way to backup my data.

Apr. 30

Rab said that I can use "I" or "we" in my essay only when I write about something strongly related to myself. I am writing about university dorms and I live in a dorm, so in my essay I may be able to use them. When I use photographs in my essay,  ones which I took is the best for essay. So, I can take some photographs of ICU dorms and use them if I want. But when I use photographs from the others on the Internet, I have to check 'cc search' and choose ones which I can use freely. Google maps will be useful for introducing ICU dorms' looks.

Apr. 26

Today's class was library orientation.
Before the class starts, only five or six people were there, but when the class starts,there are large part of my section mates. I have thought that about half of us would be absent today, but my guess was wrong. :) It may be because Rab had said us that he would take attendance in today's class.

Most of us have taken this kind of library lectures, so generally, there were nothing new to know.
I have known that ICU library has so many databases (but actually I haven't used them so much).
Yet, one new thing for me was I can get FULL text via ProQuest or EBSCOhost. I didn't know that I can borrow full text from other universities' libraries if I cannot find it in ICU or on the Internet. It is very useful. But I hope it does not ask me money...

Apr. 24th

I have never known that there is "google video"! Google, google scholar, google images, etc...
How useful! And I also did not know that google scholar tell me how many times an article is cited. I always have a trouble when I search articles to refer for my essay. There are so many articles and I cannot read all of them, so the number will help me a lot.
iTunes U also seems also useful to learn something I cannot learn in ICU or books.

Apr. 16th RW

Before today's class, I did not know that I can make groups on zotero. It is very useful to share what I find with my group member. There is a limit as to what I can search by myself.
I was suprised to know that google will stop "google reader" service soon. Actually I have not used it that much so far, and Rab said he knows other good ways, so it will be ok!

 Today Rab showed us a lot of useful search engine. I wonder how he collect such wonderful websites. Some of websites shown in Online Collage Blog were not so easy for me to use, but there are 100 websites, there must be easy ones to use!!
